Privacy

What this site collects, what it does not, and who else is involved. Last updated August 2026.

The short version

This is a static site. There are no accounts and no logins, and the only thing it ever asks you for is an email address, if you choose to subscribe to the briefing. Nothing else you do here is stored by us. Two third parties do see your visit: our network provider and our advertising provider. Both are described below.

What we collect directly

Nothing that identifies you. The web server keeps short-lived access logs containing IP address, timestamp, requested page, referrer and browser user-agent. These are used to keep the site running and to spot abuse, are not linked to any profile, and are rotated and deleted on a fourteen-day cycle. We do not sell, rent or share them.

What we ask Analytics to record

Beyond the pages you visit, we record three interactions, none of which identify you: whether a link out to a source record was followed and to which of the registries, whether the filter box on a table was used and whether it found anything, and whether the subscribe form was submitted. The filter box is a free text field, so what you type into it is never sent as written — it is reported only if it exactly matches a drug or brand name this site itself publishes, and as “(other)” in every other case. We do this to find out whether the parts of the site we think are useful are the parts anyone uses.

Cookies

Cookies you receive while reading this site are set by the third parties below — Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and similar) on this domain to tell repeat visits apart, and Google’s advertising sets its own. We set none beyond those.

Third parties

Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it from attack. It processes your IP address and may set a strictly necessary security cookie. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Google Analytics tells us how many people read the site and which pages they read. It records the pages you visit, roughly where in the world you are, your device and browser, and where you arrived from. We use it to decide what to write more of, and we do not attempt to identify individual readers. You can opt out of it entirely with Google’s browser add-on, and most browsers’ tracking protection blocks it too.

Google AdSense serves the advertising on this site. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technology to show ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites, and may process your IP address and device information to do it. We do not receive that data and cannot see who you are. You can turn off personalised advertising at Google My Ad Center, review how Google uses data from sites that use its services, or opt out of some third-party ad cookies at aboutads.info.

If you subscribe

The subscribe form asks for one thing: an email address. We store that and the date you signed up, and we use them for one purpose — to send you the briefing. We do not sell, rent, share or trade them, and we do not use them for advertising. Every email we send will carry a one-click unsubscribe; you can also ask us to delete you at any time and we will, without asking why.

The form is served from our own machine, and the list lives in a restricted file on that machine rather than in a third-party database.

What we deliberately do not do

We run no session recording, no heatmaps, no fingerprinting, and no advertising or affiliate relationships with telehealth providers, compounding pharmacies or drug manufacturers. We do not build profiles of readers, and we never combine anything Analytics reports with a subscriber’s email address. We ask you for nothing except an email address if you choose to subscribe.

Health information

This site publishes registry, regulatory and publication records about drugs. It does not ask for, receive or store any information about your health, your prescriptions or your medical history, and nothing you read here is medical advice. We are not a covered entity under HIPAA. Please do not send us health information.

Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR gives you rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. If you are in California, the CCPA and CPRA give you rights to know, delete, correct and opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it. Because we hold no account data, most requests to us will be answered by confirming we have nothing about you; requests concerning advertising data are best directed to Google, who holds it.

Children

This site is intended for a professional and adult general audience. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Nearly every row on this site links to a source we do not control — ClinicalTrials.gov, the FDA, journals and news publishers. Their privacy practices are their own.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page will change with it.
